Harmony Day

Harmony Day Celebration

Harmony Day was celebrated on Friday the 31st March this year. There was a sea of orange as children and staff dressed in this colour as it is associated with Harmony Day. Special effort was also made by many students wearing outfits from their cultural backgrounds. A humorous assembly item by the Year 5/6 class which had a very important message lead into the day. The item’s message was that “Everyone Belongs” which is this year’s theme for Harmony Day.

Throughout the week students from all classes had been tracing the outline of their hands on card and writing messages of what living in harmony means to them. The classes then stuck their hand cut outs on the “Harmony Tree” on the Library wall. This has been painted permanently as a reminder of the multicultural nature of the school and reinforcing the message that we all do belong.

Many thanks to all who helped out to make this day special including the canteen staff who provided delicious treats.
